You should have seen our game on the 19/9/08. That was a game set for Hollywood. Ten past 5pm. Our first five players went on. Soldiers preparing for the second most important game of the season- semi finals. I had told my friends that it was the quarter- finals. I felt like such a tool. The game started at the blow of the whistle. Players at the ready. Passing. Dribbling. Scoring. We were just ahead of them but they were just too good. Or too tall- this one girl just kept getting the ball and scoring.

They were breaking away from the original score. 9-11 our way looked way better than the 11-22 theirs. After some strategic subs and powerful passes, we closed in on a better score. I didn’t actually play this time, but that’s because I’m just the rookie. This was a tough game and we had to win. We were getting close then we were just under. Dad who was keeping the time accidently kept the time going even during the time out. We had to tell him. Another little bungle was when we were 26- 27 and dad was supposed to put us on 28, to have us ahead by one. Apparently, the score and foul keeper, who was plainly related to one of the ‘Delije’ was been biased and actually put a foul on one of our girls instead of one of their 4-foul player. Dad caught him out. It’s not too surprising though. Semi- finals people. Of course when it’s a tough game people will do what they can to win.

Then it came to the last few minutes- or so we thought. Backtrack a little to before the bungles. From about 20, we rose up within a few minutes. We wanted to get ahead and sure, we should have been but for the bungles. It was 26- 27, their way. About a minute or two left. They got up to 27. Then it happened just a little before the buzzer. We scored-- 28 all and hearts racing!!

We thought it was all over but we had actually been now given another three minutes before the draw. Breathing stopped, sweat poured and the ball, accompanied by many feet bounced hard around the court. They got 29, but then we go 31. the claws were more than out, with some of their players showing the irritation in rusty behaviour. They wanted to score but—

The buzzer for the end of overtime sounded. I felt my heart loosen up a little. Now I was ecstatic. We were going to be in the GRAND FINALS! they were a good team, but we were just better... We had won- closely but we did it. Their energy, my breath and our coach’s voice, were all well sacrificed for our great victory....


WE WON THE GRAND FINALS!! yay lol....

Hopefully we can be victorious

Sorry I have't written anything for ages. HSC comes first... though I'm splitting my units up over 2008 and 09.
